High Cotton

1984 Green (born in 1942) has taught at many universities and is the curator and director of the American Indian Program at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. She earned her Ph.D. in folklore from Indiana University and edited That's What She Said: Contemporary Poetry and Fiction by Native American Women (1984). Green's Native background, through her father, is Cherokee.
